On Thursday May 13, 2021 during 1.00- 2.30 pm, the SATREPS Area-BCM (DREAM) Project organized the 6th Steering Committee meeting via the online meeting platform Zoom and received active participations from key project members and collaborating entities including Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) and Royal Irrigation Department (RID). The purpose of this meeting was to report the collaboration with the collaborating entities, overall progress, and plan of activities.
The meeting began with a welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Supot Teachavorasinskun, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, followed by an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Chakkaphan Sutthirat, Vice President for Research Affairs. Both Prof. Dr. Supot Teachavorasinskun and Prof. Dr. Chakkaphan Sutthirat voiced the importance and the versatile implications of the project on future management of disasters.
Hence, the moderator, Asst. Prof. Dr. Natt Leelawat introduced the overview of the SATREPS Area-BCM (DREAM) Project including updates on the operation structure, project design matrix, and research members. This was followed by presentations of 4 research groups: Development of Flood inundation model for the
Industrial Parks presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Anurak Sriariyawat, Community Research presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ruttiya Bhula-or and Dr. Sutpratana Duangkaew, Business Impact Analysis presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tartat Mokkhamakkul, and Area-BCM Establishment and Dissemination presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Natt Leelawat.
During the last period of the meeting, the Q&A session was held and met with great interest on the deemed outcome in the form of data updates and a model-based platform from the designated representative of RID. Also, the session received a question from a member of DDPM on the application of research on other multi-hazard settings. Both comments and questions were responded to by the key presenters, Asst. Prof. Dr. Anurak Sriariyawat and Asst. Prof. Dr. Natt Leelawat.
In the end, Prof. Dr. Supot Teachavorasinskun, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, gave a closing speech in support of the SATREPS DREAM (Area-BCM) Project towards success in enhancing sustainable development.
