Bangkok, Thailand – On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, Professor Kenji Watanabe, Principal Investigator of the SATREPS DREAM Area-BCM Project, along with Assoc. Dr. Natt Leelawat, Dr. Jing Tang, with students from DRMIS: Ms. Penpitcha Arayachookiat, Ms. Yanisa Bhisitcharoenrat, and Ms. Yada Vikraipaisarn, and the SATREPS DREAM Area-BCM Project Assistant, Mr. Kullachart Prathumchai, visited the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT). Mr. Teerawut Charoensuk, Assistant to Governor (Operation Function 1), Ms. Pitaya Dangmanee, Director of Operation Function 1, as well as Executive Directors and Chiefs of groups, warmly welcomed the visiting team. The purpose of the visit was to present the progress of the project and discuss project implementation guidelines and activities to enhance cooperation.
The meeting included two areas of discussion:
Academic Area: SATREPS DREAM Area-BCM Project and IEAT discussed proposed academic activities in the near future, such as the Lifelong Learning training course of the Faculty of Engineering, as well as other academic activities.
Technical Area: SATREPS DREAM Area-BCM Project discussed with IEAT regarding the issue of implementing strategic workshops during May to July for the employees in the industrial park in Ayutthaya. Additionally, the purpose of visiting the industrial area in the Eastern Economic Corridor (ECC) was to study the area for the preparation of Phase II implementation if there is a possibility. According to the IEAT, a positive response was received and warmly supported coordination.

The SATREPS DREAM (Area-BCM) Project is a joint research project between Japan and Thailand under the SENDAI framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. The project is schemed to launch a sustainable economic growth platform through disaster resilience enhancement at Industry complexes in Thailand and input to ISO/TC292 by the year 2023.
