Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) Engages in Collaborative Meetings and Site Visits in Thailand

[Bangkok, Thailand] – From January 8th to January 11th, 2024, representatives from the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) embarked on a visit to Thailand, in conjunction with the SATREPS Area – BCM project. The visit included insightful meetings and productive site visits aimed at fostering collaboration and advancing research initiatives.

On January 9th, 2024, JST representatives convened with Item leaders and Professor Vipan Prajuabmoh, Dean of the College of Population Studies at Chulalongkorn University. During the meeting, each Item group delivered presentations outlining their work processes, followed by engaging discussions where JST members posed questions and shared their opinions on academic research. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with constructive feedback provided to further enhance project outcomes.

Continuing their itinerary, on January 11th, 2024, JST, accompanied by Professor Kenji Watanabe, Project Investigator, visited the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) office in Bangkok and the Rojana Industrial Park in Ayutthaya. This visit aimed to present the progress of the SATREPS Area – BCM project and engage in fruitful discussions pertaining to business collaboration opportunities. Professor Watanabe reported a successful visit, noting the positive reception and feedback received from both locations, fostering optimism for future collaboration endeavors.

The SATREPS Area – BCM project extends its heartfelt gratitude to JST for their cordial visit and unwavering support. It is believed that this collaborative effort will further strengthen relationships and bring about tangible benefits to stakeholders and target communities, contributing to sustainable development goals.
